Metrodle is an exciting and interactive puzzle game that challenges you to guess your destination within the London Underground system. Unlike traditional trivia or geography-based games, Metrodle presents you with a unique spin by testing your knowledge of the iconic Tube network.

Like many of the trending word-based games, such as Strands NYT, the game requires sharp thinking and strategic guessing to locate the target station within six guesses.

What Is The Rule Of The Game?

At the start of the game, a zoomed-in section of the Tube map appears on your screen, with your target station positioned in the center. However, this map is void of key information since there are no station names, and the colored lines that typically represent different routes are missing.

After each incorrect guess, the game reveals additional pieces of the map: colored Tube lines and station names. Each color represents a specific Underground line, and understanding the patterns of these lines will significantly aid in narrowing down your destination.

How To Master The Metrodle Game?

Start With A Central Station

On your first guess, it would be best to choose a well-known central station that is highly connected, such as King’s Cross St. Pancras, Oxford Circus, or Liverpool Street.

By selecting these well-connected stations, you will unlock valuable feedback early on, such as the names of surrounding stations and the colors of multiple Tube lines. The more lines and stations revealed in your first guess, the better your chances of guessing subsequent stations on connected lines.

Leverage Proximity Feedback

One of the most powerful tools in Metrodle is the proximity feedback you receive after each guess. This feedback tells you how far, in terms of stops, your guessed station is from the target and the direction you need to travel.

If your guess is close to the correct station, try your best not to make drastic directional shifts. You had better focus on making small, incremental moves to find the exact stop.

Think Logically About Directions

If you are not a frequent user of the London Underground, it might take some time to get used to the system. Playing multiple rounds can help you become more familiar with the Tube lines and the major stations.
