About Countryle

Playing puzzle games doesn’t mean you have to stay at home and stare at the screen, racking your brain to find the solution. Here comes Contryle! This game will take you on an adventurous journey around the globe right in the comfort of your sofa.

As the name suggests, your job is to figure out the secret country daily based on some provided clues. If you’re confident about your geographical knowledge or just want to rack up some interesting information about countries worldwide, this game is for you!

How To Play The Countryle Game

Initially, you will see a world map. Your first step is to type in a random country in the bar at the bottom. You don’t have to remember the full name. Just check the drop-down list and select an appropriate country. After submitting your first guess, the system will give clues that point you to the right country:

  • Hemisphere: This shows which hemisphere the guessed country is located.
  • Continent: This implies the continent of the guessed country.
  • Avg. temperature: The average temperature of the guessed country at that time.
  • Population: This indicates the population of the guessed country.
  • Coordinate: This shows the direction from the guessed country to the solution one, which can be N, S, E, or W.

    • Besides this data, pay attention to the arrows and colors:

  • Red: Your submitted information is wrong.
  • Yellow: Your guessed data is close to that of the secret country.
  • Green: Your guessed information is correct.
  • Up arrow (for the population and temperature metrics): The number is lower than that of the solution country. You need to find another country with a higher number (of population or temperature).
  • Down arrow (for the population and temperature metrics): The number is higher than that of the secret country. Choose another country with a lower number (of population or temperature).

    • You have unlimited attempts, so don’t rush into the solution!

    Tips For Playing

    Here are some tried-and-true tips for winning:

  • When you receive the hints, spend time analyzing them carefully with the help of Google. For example, let’s say the clues are the Northern Hemisphere and 7.63 degrees C with an up arrow. Search on Google: which country in the Northern Hemisphere has an average temperature higher than 7.63 degrees C now? Continue with other hints, and you can narrow down the possibilities.
  • Don’t stress out because you have unlimited guesses! If you can’t still figure out the country at the end of the day, click on the Flag icon to give up and get the answer!
