Citydle

About The Citydle Game

When mentioning a puzzle guessing game, players commonly think of a popular name like Strands or Crossword. However, many developers have changed the ordinary conception by making many variants that are not based on the word-guessing engine. The game may still be a guessing game, but the target is no longer a word.

Here, we are talking about the Citydle game, in which players will try their best to figure out which is the secret city of the game by submitting a precise city name.

It is a modified version developed from the idea of the Wordle game. For this reason, you can see some related features of Wordle in this variant, like the number of allowed guesses and the guessing gameplay.

How To Play Citydle

In the Citydle game, the length of the hidden city’s name is not fixed. You can come up with any potential name you want, and it must be a real city in the world. However, the number of allowed guesses is limited to six. Hence, strive to finish the game before using up all the chances.

You must type your guess in the guessing box right beneath the game’s logo. After you type the first letters of your guessed city, the game will give you a list of related names. You can tap or click on the suggestion to select it.

The Hints In The Citydle Game

The game will give players some practical and useful clues after each submission. The hints are upgraded compared to the colored hints in the Wordle game. Although they are still in color form, they have more colors with different meanings:

  • The gray color indicates a city name that is not related to the solution of the game.
  • The orange color shows that the guessed city and the hidden city are on the same continent but in different countries.
  • The yellow color appears when the guessed city is in the same country as the secret city.
  • You win the game when the guessed city turns all green.
  • Apart from the colored hints, you will see a directional arrow and a number implying the distance of the direction from your guess to the correct city.
