Adoptle

Learning About Adoptle Before Playing

Adoptle is a fun word game that provides puzzles about pet topics, particularly dog names for adoption. Every day, the game will offer a new challenge: find a 4-letter secret word.

With the 4x8 grid system, players will have more attempts than the traditional word-guessing versions. After each guess, the game will provide hints about the position of the letters in the word, similar to the popular Wordle game.

However, the special thing about Adoptle is that you still get the hint (the first letter in the keyword) before starting to guess. Would you like to experience it right now?

How to Play the Adoptle Game

Let’s press “Play” to start the game. The screen will display a random picture of a dog or cat (it isn’t the dog/cat you have to guess).

Above the grid, Adoptle provides you with the first letter in the keyword. Your task is to find a 4-letter name starting with that suggested word.

If you fill in the correct word at the first guess, the game will immediately finish. In contrast, you will receive the feedback:

  • Gray: These are the wrong letters.
  • Yellow: They appear in the keyword but are wrong in the location; you need to change their position in your next guesses.
  • Green: You must hold these letters and never place them in other positions when guessing the following names.
  • By optimizing the clues that Adoptle offers, you continue your guessing process until you find the pet’s correct name on the tenth try.

The Best Tip For Conquer Adoptle With The Fewest Guesses

The most effective way to guess the hidden word in Adoptle is to search all 4-letter names of dogs and cats that start with the given letter. For example, the game provides you with an “O”; you can look for the pet’s name beginning with this letter.

Though you’re an experienced pet owner with much knowledge of dogs and cats, you cannot also know all their names. So, finding out the names is helpful for shortening the number of guesses and narrowing the range of guesses.
